It's not yours...our new weekly five!
Author Bre Russell
Every other week I’ll send out a list of 5 things I think are worth sharing — business concepts, products I find, new journaling, writing, and interesting links straight to your inbox.
It’s free. No spam. And not affiliate marketing (I’m not getting paid to share these things). Enjoy!
5 things worth sharing are…
1. Book: It’s not your money, by Tosha Silver. Fantastically magical book about letting go of the concept of “my/mine” and opening your heart to the Divine Universe focusing on financial abundance. Great quick read for changing your money mindset.
2. Matanzas Creek Winery in Santa Rosa! Wineries might be closing back up or moving tastings outdoors. We were lucky enough to find the Matanzas winery known for their lavender fields in full bloom. Stop by with your picnic lunch and enjoy the view. From a business perspective, I love the idea of combining a winery with unique natural beauty such as Lavender fields. This is a great way to have a competitive advantage over the many other wineries around. This example has inspired me to pair two interests together personally and professionally to add a creative spin.
3. Strategic tools for ideas and planning: I recreated this Venn diagram from Adam Grant on figuring out how to decide if your idea should become a project or not. And this futurists framework from the Harvard Business Review on nonlinear strategic planning.
4. Chiropractic and mental adjustment: first time seeing a chiropractor again for chronic back pain in over 7 years was this week. Dr. Rina at Tinozzi Chiropractor was extremely patient and thoughtful, updating me on her process as she went incorporating massage and stretching as well. If you haven’t tried a chiropractor, I highly recommend it, BUT you must find the right person. Like anything in life- people you feel connected to and safe with are extremely important in having a positive lasting impact on you. I found Dr. Rina through a friend, prior to seeing her I tried a random chiropractor in the past and did NOT like his approach. It turned me off to the practice and took 7+ years to try again this week. I ask myself now every time I work with anyone: do I feel like they care about me? Do I feel a connection with them? If the answer is “No”, then I don’t work with them, because I know the feeling of magic when you do work with people that you feel connected to and once you find that there’s no turning back.
5. A mask you can breathe and eat in: I found this mask/scarf this week and everyone has been complimenting me on it! So I thought I’d share, you can order it on Amazon for $16 and choose the color/design that you like. Why its one I’m recommending is this: it stays on your neck like a scarf/bandana so you can pull it down to eat without having to take it off or hold it; it has ear loops so it stays on your face unlike a scarf or bandana; its breathable material which is great for exercising in; its not too tight so there’s space to breath and more air reserve in the bottom area; and you can choose a design its not just the typical black mask.
And here’s your sweet journal prompt for the week…
