Top 5 for the beginning of Fall

By Bre Russell

From herbal steams to altered book art exhibits, I explore creative freedom during a time of fire and uncertainty. Here’s my top five worth sharing:

  1. The Artist’s Way, a journey in a book that led me to quite the weeks of creative exploration.

  2. Herbal steam to clean the air in our home during this time of smoke, fires, and extremely unhealthy air quality. Try it! The blend of bacteria killing cinnamon, orange peels, oregano, lavender and peppermint gets me excited for the holiday season smells to come. Simply boil water, throw in your herbs, let simmer with lid cracked so steam can fill the air.

  3. Altered book art exhibit at the Marin Museum of Contemporary Art. I’m thinking of entering my own altered book art next year!

  4. Astrology chart reading with Palomi. Existential questions like, “how am I not myself?” from one of my favorite movies of all time- I ❤️ Huckabees. Great experiment for self exploration.

  5. Love on the Spectrum on Netflix, fantastically humbling and uplifting journey through the dating lens of autism.

Journal prompt: If (blank) was missing from my life, I’d be totally miserable. When I have (blank), I feel peace and harmony with myself and the world around me.
